Mi 10i 5G: The Perfect Choice for Your Next Smartphone

A white Xiaomi Mi 10i smartphone with a blue camera module. The text "Mi 10i The Perfect th" is visible on the front of the phone.

Xiaomi has created a mid-range Android phone. It has 64/128 GB of storage and 6/8 GB of RAM.

For roughly 22,000 INR, you can get 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, but there are also some discounts. if you hold an ICCI credit card.

It features a 108-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel, f/2.2, 120-degree ultrawide camera, a 2-megapixel, f/2.4 macro camera, and a 2-megapixel, f/2.4 depth camera.

This is the Snapdragon 750 G. We saw this earlier with the Moto G 5G. This is not technically a Redmi phone now; it’s a Mi phone now. It has a plastic-like back, but it’s a very shiny kind of thing. And I think that’s why they put the plastic case in the box.

You will get a 33-watt charger in the box. The fact that they are including a charger makes me delighted. The 6.67-inch full HD IPS LCD screen of the Mi 10i features a refresh rate of 120 hertz. It is equipped with Gorilla Glass 5 and runs on the brand-new Snapdragon 750G SOC. It has an Adreno 619 GPU built in.

The front-facing camera is a punch-hole 16 megapixel, and it has a 4820 mAh battery with 33-watt fast charging.
It does not have an app tray, but in the settings, you can go and invoke it. There is quite a bit of junk that is installed; a lot of junkware apps, a lot of games, and stuff are there.

Fortunately, many of them can be uninstalled, but there are some Xiaomi-specific apps that cannot be uninstalled.
Some Xiaomi-specific apps are installed, and you cannot remove them. There is a lot of bloatware installed. You used almost 18.5 GB of storage when you checked after the first boot. If you are a heavy user, then you might have to go with that 128-GB variant.

Considering the price of the device, you can get it for about 20,000 INR. The speakers are good; you’re getting stereo speakers; they’re not the loudest, but we are getting stereo speakers.

The screen is an IPS LCD screen. Yes, let’s forget about 120 hertz, but the screen quality on this one is good. Netflix works in HD, so it has wideband support. So the colors look very good. The display is also adequately bright.
The auto-brightness sensor calibration is done on this one and it works well. The display quality on this one is good, though it’s an IPS LCD screen. The earpiece quality is good on this device.

The microphone quality is good. If you talk about the earpiece also having clarity, there is no crackling. But even at maximum volume, it is not very loud, but it’s okay for indoors. But if you are just outside on the streets, where you want the earpiece to go louder because of the sound, that can be an issue. The noise cancellation when you take calls is pretty good.

In terms of UI, it’s the Mi UI 12. Ram optimization is very aggressive. Regarding the weight, it is about 214.5 grams. So yes, certainly on the heavier side, it does not feel top heavy or bottom heavy; the weight balance is distributed, so that way it is nice.

It does have a small physical LED notification light for charging indication near the front camera. Regarding the fingerprint scanner, you will get a side-bound fingerprint scanner, and that works fine without any issues.

The back is also Gorilla Glass 5, which is good. It does not have an oleophobic coating. It’s easy to catch up. It's best to use the case if you don’t want the fingerprint.

Verdict

It is certainly a pretty good device that we are getting from Xiaomi. The hardware specs are good on this one, but Xiaomi still needs to do a little bit of optimization because of some stuttering in 120-hertz mode.

Again, Mi UI optimizations need to be done. I hope they do that. Overall, it’s a nice device considering the price point. You can get this 128-gigabyte variant for about 20,000 INR. As of now, we have that 2000 rupee discount if you use an ICCI card on Amazon.

Let me remind you if you’re looking for complete 5G compatibility. This one supports only two bands of 5G, so you've got to be aware of that.
